As a Church of England school we work within a Christian framework. We aim to provide the best possible education in a supportive and disciplined environment so that every student may prepare confidently for adult and working life. Our commitment is to help everyone to reach their full potential, including those of exceptional ability and those with learning difficulties.
Visitors to the School frequently remark upon the good atmosphere that prevails - there is a real sense of purpose and direction amongst staff and students. It is not surprising, therefore, that the quality of learning is high and that our examination results are excellent, representing achievement at the highest levels within Nottingham. Our students also have an enviable record of success in going on to Further and Higher Education and in gaining employment.
In 1996, Bluecoat was awarded Technology College status. This enables us to offer remarkable provision in Computing, ICT, Mathematics, Science and Technology.
Vocational courses, links with business and industry, and international exchange are well established. We are also developing further expertise in the Arts and a second specialist status in Business and Enterprise.
I consider myself fortunate to be the Principal of a successful, oversubscribed school. The key to this is, of course, excellent teaching and our success stems from the fact that we are able to attract and retain outstanding teachers. It is also because we enjoy high levels of support from our parents.
Our success has led to the creation of a second campus at Wollaton Park to enable more young people to benefit from a Bluecoat education. Both campuses are also in the process of being redeveloped over the next few years. We look forward to welcoming you to the School.
